Then using a brush, rub it thoroughly into the fibers of your carpets and the fabric of your furniture. Now clean these items with vacuum cleaner and collect the bodies of the dead fleas.

All you need to do is thinly slice a lemon and add that to a pint of water. Bring it to boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Now let this solution cool down. Then rub it with a carpet brush and then vacuum clean your stuff.

You can also create this easy yet effective flea trap at home using dish wash and water. This is a famous remedy to terminate fleas and get rid of them for good.

In a plate or a bowl, mix some dish soap liquid with warm water. Place it in the infested area where flea activity is the most common and likely. Due to its high viscosity this solution acts like glue and traps fleas in it.

Repeating this method with fresh batch on daily basis can help you attain successful results. However this remedy is most effective when used at night time.

Did you know that you could make herbal flea spray at home using all natural ingredients? This herbal spray is not only effective but it is conducive for your environment as well, as it is non-toxic and doesn’t contain and harmful chemicals. The herbal Flea spray can be prepared by mixing together 4 liters of vinegar, 2 liters of water, 500 ml of lemon juice and 250 ml of witch hazel in a large spray bottle. After vacuum cleaning your house, spray this solution on the carpet, furniture, pillows, sills, floors, pets bedding etc.

Diatomaceous earth is the remains of fossilized algae diatoms. These diatoms contain a glass like component silica. Silica is effective in killing fleas as it can cut through the exoskeleton of the insects and dry them out. When the fleas come in contact with diatomaceous earth their hard shells are broken down, the moisture in their bodies that sustains their existence is dried up and the fleas are killed.

In case you are experiencing fleas’ infestation in your home, you should wash and vacuum your carpets and then sprinkle this diatomaceous earth all over the affected areas and items. Leave it for about 12 to 48 hours. After that simple vacuum clean your belongings and that’s it.
